The Diocese of Richmond seeks a Director of Ethnic Ministries to advance pastoral, sacramental, devotional, linguistic, cultural, and communal support for diverse communities from the Pastoral Center in Richmond, VA.

The role emphasizes intercultural diversity, unity in the Body of Christ, and facilitating the celebration of faith among Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American groups, while collaborating with parishes and diocesan offices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred and experience in human services.
• Capable of acting as a generalist in Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American ministries; specialist in Hispanic culture/ministry.
• Leadership, volunteer coordination, program management, planning and administration skills required.
• Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
• A practicing Catholic in good standing with solid understanding of Catholic Church teaching and structure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the ethnic ministries across the diocese, including Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American communities.
• Collaborate with parishes and other diocesan offices to foster intercultural diversity and unity.
• Serve on the Bishop’s Cabinet and provide diocesan leadership in ethnic ministry initiatives.
