Job summary

Pitt Community College is seeking an experienced Director of Infrastructure Support to oversee Enterprise Solutions, Application Programming, and Network Services. You will report to the CIO, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure across on‑premise and cloud environments.

The role requires leadership, budgeting, and strategic planning to support institutional goals while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• 4+ years of related IT infrastructure experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of server infrastructure, cloud services, and network management.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, compliance standards (GLBA, HIPAA, NIST).

Pitt Community College is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Infrastructure Support to oversee the management and operations of three critical IT areas: Enterprise Solutions, Application Programming, and Network Services. Reporting directly to the CIO, the Director ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of the institution’s IT infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud.

This position plays a key role in developing and executing technology strategies, supporting institutional goals, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee management of Enterprise Solutions, including on-premise and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and hosted systems such as Ellucian Colleague, Element451, Etrieve, NelNet, TracCloud, HelioCampus, and LibraryPass).
• Supervise the Manager of Application Programming and team, overseeing development and support in IIS, APIs, Etrieve Content and Central, and Entrinsik Informer tools.
• Supervise the Manager of Network Services and team, managing wired/wireless networks, telephony, fax systems, and infrastructure security (including next‑gen firewalls).
• Ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring, management, and optimization.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement technology strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
• Provide direct support to the CIO in IT project planning, execution, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for IT operations and cybersecurity.
• Manage budgets and allocate resources for infrastructure support teams.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep PCC’s IT infrastructure competitive and secure.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GLBA, HIPAA, CIS Controls, NIST 800‑53, and PCI.
• Develop, test, and maintain Business Continuity and Incident Response plans.

• Minimum of 4 years of IT infrastructure management experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the role successfully.
