Position Overview:

The Director of Infrastructure & Security will lead SpectraMedix's transformation from on-prem infrastructure to Azure PaaS-based architecture, while overseeing all general IT infrastructure operations. This includes hands-on leadership in areas such as virtualization, endpoint management, IT policies, Active Directory, network security, compliance, and more. The ideal candidate has a deep background in healthcare IT, with strategic and technical leadership experience across both traditional infrastructure and modern cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of infrastructure from on-premise to Azure PaaS, with a strong focus on scalability, security, and performance.
• Design and implement secure, cost-effective solutions using Azure native services including App Services, Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and more.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
• Manage Azure networking (VNet, Subnet, NSG), hybrid connectivity (VPN/ExpressRoute), and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Azure DevOps Pipelines).

IT Infrastructure & Operations

• Manage a hybrid IT environment including on-prem virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and co-located datacenter resources.
• Oversee endpoint security, firewall configuration, backup strategy, and systems administration (Windows & Linux).
• Drive business continuity and disaster recovery strategy aligned with healthcare client SLAs.
• Evaluate and manage vendors, hardware/software upgrades, and cost optimization efforts.

Security & Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, SOC2, NIST, and other healthcare security frameworks.
• Manage security tools such as Sophos, Qualys, FortiNet, and ManageEngine Log360, Endpoint Central, and AD Audit Plus.
• Conduct internal/external audits, lead incident response, risk assessments, and coordinate third-party assessments.
• Stay informed of emerging threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.

Leadership & Governance

• Lead and mentor IT infrastructure and security teams, setting goals and driving performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, PMO, Product) to define infrastructure/security needs in RFPs, SOWs, and change requests.
• Drive IT policy enforcement, access governance, and ensure operational excellence.
• Support facility planning including disaster recovery sites, physical security, and system resilience.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years in IT infrastructure and cloud security leadership roles, with at least 5 years in healthcare IT.
• Minimum 5+ years managing infrastructure and security teams across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Proven experience with Azure cloud architecture, DevOps, Terraform, and healthcare compliance frameworks.
• Deep knowledge of network and endpoint security tools, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Experience leading cloud migration projects, particularly from lift-and-shift to PaaS models.
• Strong understanding of healthcare data security, including PHI and HIPAA regulatory environments.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Certifications:

• ITIL certification (v3 or v4) for IT service management.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) preferred.
