Job summary

Wesco is seeking a Director of Industrial Engineering to drive labor standards, facility layout, and process design across its distribution network in the U.S. and Canada.

You will own design optimization for throughput, space utilization, and labor efficiency, while partnering with IT and analytics to ensure measurable improvements. The role requires a strong background in engineered labor standards, time studies, and large-scale facility design, with travel up to 50% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Master’s degree in MBA preferred.
• 10 years of progressive fulfillment or operations engineering experience.
• Experience with engineered labor standards and time studies.
• Experience designing distribution facilities and labor management systems.
• Ability to read facility drawings and use CAD or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of WMS/LMS workflows and their labor impacts.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (Automation, IT, Analytics).

Responsibilities

• Own labor standards creation, governance, and maintenance across processes.
• Lead facility layout, workflow engineering, and process solutioning to optimize throughput and space.
• Design scalable layouts for new builds, retrofits, expansions across the US/Canada/global network.
• Collaborate with IT/OPS to analyze labor impact of WMS changes.
• Embed standards in CI initiatives and validate performance against benchmarks.
• Partner with analytics to translate labor standards into KPIs and reporting.
• Review drawings and coordinate with contractors for design and optimization.
• Supervise, coach, recruit, and mentor engineering teams.
