Job summary

Federation of American Scientists seeks an Associate Director of Individual Giving & Donor Relations in Washington, DC or San Francisco, CA. This inaugural role will build the program from the ground up, coordinating with the CEO and Board to cultivate and solicit high-net-worth donors.

You will manage a portfolio, design multi-year giving plans, and advance unrestricted funding aligned with FAS priorities. The role may be hybrid or remote depending on location, with travel across the country.

Qualifications

• Major gift fundraising experience with relationships to credible donors.
• Experience engaging high-net-worth individuals and making the case for unrestricted gifts.
• Executive-level relationship skills, including partnering with a CEO and Board.
• Ability to design multi-year giving strategies and close six-figure gifts.

Responsibilities

• Qualify prospects, manage a portfolio, and develop cultivation/ solicitation strategy for each donor.
• Build multi-year giving plans and engage executive leadership and Board to advance donor relationships and giving opportunities.
• Serve as the sole operator of individual giving, building and managing the program end to end.
• In two years, develop a durable donor pipeline and fundraising infrastructure to support growth.
