Job summary

United Way of Massachusetts Bay is seeking a Director, Individual Giving to lead the annual giving program and donor engagement strategies for gifts up to $10,000. You will guide multi-channel fundraising, collaborate with External Affairs, Corporate Giving, and Development, and coach a small team to meet revenue goals.

The role emphasizes donor stewardship, retention, and creating pathways for increased giving across giving levels with a hybrid in-office schedule in Boston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of fundraising or transferable experience.
• Proven ability to build relationships with donors resulting in leadership annual gifts.
• 2-3 years experience managing direct reports.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to inform, inspire and connect prospects and donors to United Way's work in the community.
• Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and to the mission of United Way.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of United Way's annual giving program, focusing on donors up to $10,000 annually.
• Develop integrated fundraising strategies across direct mail, workplace giving, annual appeals, donor societies, and stewardship initiatives.
• Oversee calendars, campaigns, performance metrics, and reports to meet annual revenue goals.
• Collaborate with External Affairs, Corporate Giving, Development Systems & Operations to align donor segmentation and data.
• Lead and coach the Individual Giving team and partner with cross-functional colleagues.
