Job summary

George Mason University is seeking a Director of Athletic Live Events & Fan Experience to lead the planning, development, and execution of in-venue experiences for all athletics competitions and signature events. You will supervise game presentation and collaborate with marketing, ticketing, and operations to drive fan engagement and attendance.

The role requires a Master’s degree (or equivalent), strong marketing and show control expertise, and proven ability to manage a diverse team and vendor

Qualifications

• Master’s degree, or any combination of bachelor’s degree, training, certification and work experience that equates to the advanced degree; demonstrated experience in marketing and game day promotions.
• Demonstrated experience in social media management & digital strategy; excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of the in-venue experience across George Mason Athletics competitions and signature events.
• Collaborate with Marketing/Brand teams to align in-venue experiences with campaigns and storytelling.
• Supervise staff and game-day operations, including show control content and outreach to vendors, concessions, and merchandise partners.
• Develop and implement fan engagement strategies and post-event surveys to measure satisfaction and revenue impact.
