Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking a Director-in-Training to join our team. This 3‑month, hands-on program includes an onsite boot camp in Clayton, NC, and leads toward a permanent School Director role.

You’ll learn hiring, budgeting, marketing, and curriculum leadership while supporting centers across multiple states. You will be mentored by experienced leaders, gain real supervisory experience, and build strong relationships with families and staff as you prepare to lead a school in our

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in early childhood education or a similar leadership role.
• Post-secondary degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (CDA/Associate/Bachelor's preferred).
• State certification or licensing as required.
• Strong communication with kids, families, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple schedules and tasks with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Participate in hands-on training covering hiring, team-building, budgeting, marketing, and curriculum.
• Lead recruitment and training while ensuring state compliance.
• Supervise staff and manage schedules, including substitutes.
• Build connections with families and the community through tours and outreach.
• Support safe, clean, engaging classrooms and smooth daily operations.

Who We're Looking For:

• A leader with 1--3 years of experience in early childhood education or a similar leadership role
• Someone with a CDA, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree (preferred) in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Certified or licensed as required by your state -- you know the drill!
• A communication champ with a heart for kids, families, and staff
