Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical/Scientific Director for Immunogenetics and Transplant Diagnostics (ITD) leadership to guide strategy and clinical operations across two major hospitals. The role emphasizes advancing integrated immunogenetics and histocompatibility services for solid organ and HPCT transplantation throughout New England.

The candidate should have an MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Clinical Pathology (or PhD with equivalent credentials) and meet OPTN/ASHI

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD with board certification in Clinical Pathology.
• PhD with doctoral degree and board certification is acceptable.
• Meets OPTN and ASHI qualifications for histocompatibility lab directors.
• Experience leading multi-hospital transplant systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Serve as CLIA clinical consultant and HLA expert for multidisciplinary transplant team meetings.
• Provide on-call virtual crossmatches and immunologic assessments.
• Participate in laboratory strategic planning, QA/QI initiatives, and assay implementation.
• Contribute to resident and fellow education and training.
