Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is required
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience including HRBP leadership
• Mandarin-speaking skills required
• Experience supporting global organizations is strongly preferred
• Proven ability to influence executives on people strategies that align with business objectives

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, succession planning, and employee engagement
• Partner with business leaders to align people initiatives with goals and growth objectives
• Coach and influence leaders on performance management, talent development, change management, and team effectiveness
• Support organizational transformation initiatives during growth periods
• Drive talent management programs including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Centers of Excellence to develop workforce plans and talent strategies
• Leverage workforce data and business metrics to guide decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support employee engagement initiatives to strengthen culture and retention
• Develop communication strategies and change management plans for alignment and effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement people programs and business initiatives
• Champion a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results

Our client, a global, fast-growing consumer retail brand, is seeking a Director, Human Resources (Mandarin-speaking) to serve as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner to senior leadership. This role will focus on aligning people strategies with business objectives, supporting organizational growth, strengthening leadership effectiveness, and driving talent initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate brings deep HRBP experience within a fast-paced, high-growth environment and excels at influencing leaders, guiding workforce planning efforts, and building scalable people programs. This position is based full-time onsite in the greater Los Angeles area.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent strategy, succession planning, and employee engagement
• Partner closely with business leaders to align people initiatives with organizational goals and growth objectives
• Coach and influence leaders on performance management, talent development, change management, and team effectiveness
• Support organizational transformation initiatives and help leaders navigate periods of growth and change
• Drive talent management programs, including performance management, succession planning, and leadership development
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and Centers of Excellence to develop workforce plans and talent strategies
• Leverage workforce data, organizational insights, and business metrics to guide decision‑making and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support employee engagement initiatives that strengthen culture, retention, and employee experience
• Develop communication strategies and change management plans that promote alignment and organizational effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to implement people programs and business initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required
• 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including significant HR Business Partner leadership experience
• Mandarin speaking skills required
• Experience supporting global organizations strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success partnering with senior leadership to develop and execute people strategies that support business objectives
• Strong expertise in organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, leadership coaching, and change management
• Proven ability to influence and advise executives on complex organizational and people-related matters
• Experience supporting high-growth, evolving organizations through periods of transformation and scale
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people strategies to business outcomes
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building skills
• Experience working within consumer-facing, retail, hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, or other high-growth industries preferred
• Experience supporting geographically dispersed employee populations
• Background working within global or multinational organizations
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience leveraging workforce data to inform decisions
• Professional Human Resources certification (SHRM‑SCP, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred

Salary: $170K–$180K + bonus
