Job summary

Brookings Health System is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead our HR team in a rural community hospital setting. You will direct recruitment, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations to support our mission-driven care delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field and at least five years of progressive HR management experience; PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of five years progressive HR management experience.
• HR generalist competencies including employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to work in a stressful environment, manage high workload, and meet deadlines.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.

The health system includes the 49-bed Brookings Hospital; a 79-bed skilled nursing home, The Neighborhoods at Brookview; congregate living apartments for seniors, Brookhaven Estates; Arlington Medical Center; White Medical Clinic; Volga Medical Clinic and Yorkshire Eye Clinic.Under the general direction of the CEO and in collaboration with management throughout Brookings Health System, the Human Resources Director assures the development and delivery of effective human resources policies, programs, and systems that support the culture and work force. The Human Resources Director has system responsibility for managing the following human resources functions: recruitment and retention, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, EEO and regulatory compliance, performance management, organizational development, and Human Resources information systems management.
