Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health seeks a HR Client Services Director reporting to the Executive Director to lead and ensure integrated delivery of high-quality HR services supporting business strategy and operations.

This working leader will manage HR Business Partners and Generalists, align HR policies with client needs, oversee policy compliance, and influence organization-wide initiatives while fostering a service-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of organizational and systemwide personnel policies and applicable laws and regulations.
• Direct knowledge of specific functions in a university's HR management information systems.
• Excellent communication skills with a diversity of communication styles; may make oral or written presentations.
• Ability to make decisions regarding hiring, evaluating, and development of subordinates.
• Excellent management skills that include collaboration, coaching and developing subordinates; ability to build relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to handle extremely difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively.
• Deep functional expertise in employee relations and compensation.
• Ability to build, attract and develop a strong team by demonstrating and setting high standards of behavior, performance, quality, credibility and integrity.
• Demonstrated business acumen and ability to align strategy to drive the business.
• Demonstrated coaching and consultative skills with all levels of staff, including senior leadership.
• Solid knowledge of performing HR functions in a unionized environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field, and / or equivalent experience / training
• 10 years of progressively broad and functionally diverse HR experience. Three years of experience as an HR Manager or Director, supervising others.
• Knowledge and experience in medical center organizations.
