Job summary

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development seeks an Executive Director for the Division of Preservation Finance's Multifamily Cooperative Preservation Team. You will oversee loan programs, tax exemptions, and subsidies to preserve affordable housing across the five boroughs.

Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, you will manage a team of directors and project managers, coordinate with financial institutions and city agencies, and drive policy aligned with the Mamdani

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of real estate development/financing or related experience; at least 18 months in executive/managerial capacity.
• Graduate study can substitute for up to one year of experience; law degree can substitute for one year.
• Strong financial modeling, underwriting, and analysis skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development plans and strategies for financing programs to support affordable housing.
• Lead pipeline development and ensure timely closings, completions, and conversions of projects.
• Establish productivity measures and monitor unit performance; drive policy and program improvements.
