Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking an Executive Director for the Division of Preservation Finance to lead the Multifamily Cooperative Preservation Team. You will manage support for limited equity cooperatives across the five boroughs, guiding city capital subsidies and tax exemptions to improve living conditions and reduce operating costs.

You will supervise a team of directors and project managers, coordinate with financial institutions and government partners,

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree and four years of full‑time, professional experience in real estate or related fields; at least 18 months in executive/administrative/managerial capacity.
• Graduate study may substitute for up to one year of experience; law degree may substitute for one year of experience; three years total required with 18 months in management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development pipeline for financing programs and ensure timely closings and conversions.
• Develop budgets, pro formas, and affordability analyses for preservation projects.
• Coordinate with developers, financial institutions, and agencies to promote affordable housing.
• Lead project management staff and supervise directors and project managers.
• Prepare reports and monitor program performance; implement policy improvements.
