Job summary

HR&A is seeking a Director for the Housing Affordability Practice in our Los Angeles office to address housing affordability challenges. You will lead engagements, guide staff, and advance thought leadership on housing policy and market analysis.

The role requires managing cross-functional teams, performing market analyses, and presenting findings to clients while shaping strategy for cities nationwide.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years in housing policy analysis and design.
• 5–7 years in Real Estate Development or Finance, including 4+ years underwriting.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices.
• Strong real estate financial modeling experience is a plus.
• Comfort presenting to internal leadership and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external teams to complete housing market analysis.
• Lead stakeholder engagement activities with communities and partners.
• Evaluate economic feasibility of housing policies including pro forma analysis.
• Review and present deliverables to clients, including memos and reports.
• Support marketing and client engagement efforts for the practice.
