Description

Kali Hotel: A New Kind of Luxury in Los Angeles

Step into something new. Kali Hotel is bringing a fresh, elevated hospitality experience to Inglewood, at the heart of one of Los Angeles’ most exciting destinations and moments from SoFi Stadium and Intuit Dome.

For the right hospitality leader, this is more than an opportunity to oversee operations—it’s a chance to shape the culture, elevate the guest experience, and help establish a new standard for hospitality in the market.

If you’re energized by luxury, leadership, and creating something extraordinary, Kali Hotel is your opportunity to make your mark.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, highly engaged Director of Operations to serve as a key member of the hotel's executive leadership team. This is a broad, highly visible role responsible for the overall operational performance of the hotel and for creating a seamless, elevated guest experience across every touchpoint.

The Director of Operations will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary and Security, partnering closely with the General Manager and executive leadership team to drive service excellence, financial performance, associate engagement and operational consistency.

This is an ideal opportunity for a seasoned hotel operator who understands both the discipline of luxury hospitality and the energy, creativity and pace of a contemporary lifestyle hotel.

REPORTS TO: General Manager

What You'll Do

Hotel Operations & Leadership

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Culinary and Security.
  • Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee to establish operating priorities, service standards, financial objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a visible leader throughout the hotel, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, hospitality and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all departments consistently deliver an elevated, personalized guest experience aligned with the hotel's positioning and brand standards.
  • Lead the execution of hotel-wide operational initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability and guest satisfaction.
  • Operate proactively and anticipate what is coming next: identifying operational challenges, guest needs, staffing requirements and business opportunities before they become issues.
  • Maintain a forward-looking approach to hotel operations, ensuring the team is consistently prepared for changes in occupancy, group demand, major events, VIP activity and other business drivers.
  • Serve as the General Manager's operational partner and act on behalf of the General Manager when requested or absent.

Rooms Division

  • Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Concierge, Laundry and related Rooms operations.
  • Ensure staffing levels, training, service standards, productivity and departmental financial performance are aligned with business needs.
  • Lead labor planning and management, ensuring staffing models are appropriate for occupancy, forecasted demand and operational requirements.
  • Review guest feedback and service recovery trends and establish action plans to address opportunities.

Food & Beverage & Culinary

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the hotel's Food & Beverage and Culinary operations in partnership with the Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef.
  • Ensure restaurants, bars, banquets, room service, culinary and stewarding operations work cohesively to deliver a consistent guest experience.
  • Partner with F&B and Culinary leadership to maximize revenue, profitability, quality and labor productivity.
  • Support the development of compelling F&B programming, activations and experiences that build local relevance and drive hotel and outlet performance.

Forecasting, Labor & Profitability

  • Lead and oversee the hotel's operational forecasting process, ensuring departmental leaders understand business trends, anticipated demand and the operational implications of the forecast.
  • Partner with Finance, Revenue Management and department leaders to develop accurate forecasts, budgets and operating plans.
  • Monitor labor productivity and staffing levels across Rooms, F&B, Culinary and Security, proactively adjusting resources to business demand.
  • Drive accountability for departmental profitability, expense management and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability while protecting the guest experience.

Security & Risk Management

  • Oversee hotel security operations and ensure a safe environment for guests, associates, visitors and hotel assets.
  • Partner with department leaders to establish appropriate protocols for emergencies, incidents, large-scale events and high-profile guests.
  • Review security reports and trends and ensure timely follow-up and corrective action.

People & Culture

  • Recruit, develop, coach and retain high-performing leaders and associates.
  • Build a culture where leaders are visible, accountable, collaborative and empowered to make decisions.
  • Foster strong communication between departments and across all levels of the organization.
  • Support a positive labor environment and partner effectively with Human Resources and department leaders on associate relations.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant leadership experience in a full-service, upscale or luxury hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple hotel operating disciplines, including Rooms and Food & Beverage.
  • A background that blends luxury and lifestyle hotel operations; experience successfully operating in a contemporary, high-energy hotel environment is strongly preferred.
  • Marriott experience preferred, with a strong understanding of brand standards, operating disciplines and the Marriott guest experience.
  • Proven ability to lead through complexity, change and high-volume operating periods.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in forecasting, budgeting, labor management, productivity and departmental profitability.
  • Experience working in a unionized hotel environment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Food & Beverage, including restaurants, bars, banquets and culinary operations.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to move seamlessly between strategic thinking and operational execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and opportunities before they arise and create plans to address them.
  • Ability to build trust with ownership, executive leadership, department heads, associates, guests and external partners.
  • A calm, solutions-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves.

The Person We're Looking For

You are a hotel operator first.

You naturally think several steps ahead. You don't wait for a problem to land on your desk because you see it coming, build the plan and make sure the team is ready. You understand the business well enough to anticipate what the hotel will need before anyone has to ask.

You see the entire guest journey, not just your individual departments. You know when to get into the details and when to empower your leaders.

You bring the polish and discipline of luxury hospitality, but you're equally comfortable in a lifestyle environment where the hotel needs to feel current, relevant and connected to its community.

You're commercially minded, operationally rigorous and genuinely enjoy being around people. Most importantly, you're the kind of leader who makes the entire team better and makes your General Manager's job easier because you're already thinking about what's next.
