Job summary

South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel, Mississippi, seeks a Director of Hospital Patient Financial Services to lead billing, A/R, denials, and cash posting across facilities. You will drive performance, compliance, and strategic initiatives with the revenue cycle team and clinical partners.

You will oversee staffing, policy development, and regulatory reporting, ensuring accurate claims submission and payer adherence while optimizing cash flow and patient financial services delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in hospital patient financial services or healthcare revenue cycle management
• Experience in long term care and skilled nursing facility billing preferred
• Revenue cycle certifications preferred
• Knowledge of payer guidelines, CMS, HIPAA and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise hospital patient financial services operations, including staffing and budgeting
• Oversee accurate billing, claim submission, and denials management across facilities
• Manage accounts receivable, cash flow, and payer follow-up activities
• Direct self-pay, patient statements, payment plans, and collection activities
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with regulations
