Job description

This Director-level opportunity offers senior leadership of the Enterprise Risk Management function at a well-established financial services organization, reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer and carrying full ownership of the ERM framework, governance structure, and enterprise-wide risk management practices. The role combines strategic vision (establishing risk appetite, driving ERM framework development, and serving as a key advisor to the CRO on emerging risks and regulatory developments) with hands-on team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a meaningful culture-building mandate. It’s the right seat for a seasoned enterprise risk professional with 7+ years of financial services experience who combines deep regulatory expertise and strong analytical judgment with the leadership presence to influence senior stakeholders, represent risk management on governance committees, and develop a high-performing ERM team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the ERM framework, policies, and procedures; identify, assess, and monitor enterprise risks across strategic, operational, financial, and regulatory risk categories
  • Collaborate with business units to align risk management strategies with organizational objectives and defined risk appetite; provide risk management advice and subject matter expertise during product development, process changes, and strategic initiatives
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CRO on trend spotting, emerging enterprise risks, regulatory changes, and mitigation strategies; support the CRO in maintaining a strong risk governance structure including representation on various committees and working groups
  • Lead risk assessment and scenario analysis exercises; ensure the organization operates within its defined risk appetite across all business units and functions
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports to the CRO and senior leadership on compliance and operational risk matters; monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk management activities and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to risk management; assist the CRO with external stakeholders including regulators and auditors on risk management matters
  • Support the CRO in the development and delivery of training programs to promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the organization; ensure employees understand their role in managing compliance and operational risk
  • Champion risk management at a strategic level; build a risk-aware culture that improves decision-making, enhances organizational resilience, strengthens governance and stakeholder confidence, and optimizes operational efficiency
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of enterprise risk professionals including the ERM Analytics Lead; set clear objectives, provide continuous feedback, support professional growth, and foster collaboration across risk and control function
