Job summary

Amazon EC2 Hardware Engineering seeks a world-class Director, Hardware Development to own a server product line end to end. You will lead hardware design, system integration, and system engineering for a product family, accountable from design through volume manufacturing into a large-scale fleet.

You will set multi-year strategy, partner with ODMs, and drive reliability and throughput at scale while guiding managers and engineers across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering or commensurate experience.
• 10+ years hardware development experience and 8+ years engineering management experience.
• Experience delivering complex hardware systems end to end from design to volume manufacturing.
• Experience partnering with product/program management and operating hardware at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own a server product family end to end: hardware design, system integration, and system engineering.
• Own hardware quality and velocity; manage manufacturing yield and throughput targets.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through their managers; hire and develop leaders.
• Set multi-year technical and product strategy balancing innovation with reliability at scale.
• Manage ODM design and manufacturing partners (domestic and overseas).
• Own fleet-reliability outcomes and drive defect remediation.
