Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Director of Hardware Development to lead an end-to-end server product family.

You will drive hardware design, system integration, and system engineering from NPI to volume manufacturing, delivering reliable, scalable compute systems for AWS globally. You will manage multiple engineering teams, set multi-year technical and product strategy, and partner with hardware, firmware, software, operations, and supply chain teams to meet

Qualifications

10+ years hardware development experience
8+ years engineering management experience
Experience delivering complex hardware systems from design through volume manufacturing
Experience owning the full product lifecycle: NPI, design validation, launch, ramp, sustaining
Experience partnering with product management and operating hardware at scale

Responsibilities

Own a server product family end to end: hardware design, system integration, and system engineering from NPI through launch
Own hardware quality and velocity, manufacturing yield, throughput targets, and defect remediation
Lead multiple engineering teams, hire and develop managers and engineers, scale the org to meet roadmap
Set multi-year technical and product strategy for the product line and balance innovation with reliability
Manage relationships with ODM design and manufacturing partners
Own fleet-reliability outcomes (annualized failure rate, unsellable reduction)
Partner across hardware, firmware, software, operations, and supply chain to drive roadmaps
