Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is hiring for a Director of Ground Up Construction in San Francisco, on-site. The role leads a regional delivery team, manages ground-up developments, and guides pre-construction efforts, risk assessments, and contractor selection.

The ideal candidate has 12–15+ years’ executive leadership in commercial GC or prime contracting, with PM/Engineer leadership experience and GMP familiarity. A strong safety and compliance track record is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 12–15+ years of progressive executive leadership in commercial general contracting, ground-up development, or prime contracting.
• Experience leading major ground-up developments and large-scale tenant improvements $10M–$50M+.

Responsibilities

• Act as the single executive regional contact for client real estate leads, workplace strategists, land developers, and municipal officials.
• Direct major ground-up new building developments, core-and-shell additions, structural modifications, and high-finish interior fit-outs.
• Lead comprehensive Technical Due Diligence site assessments for structural integrity and environmental conditions.
• Mentor and manage a team of 3–4 Program Managers and Associate Program Directors.
• Manage contractor selection, bid-leveling for packages over $50,000, and field construction execution.
• Enforce a strict Zero-Accident safety culture across all sites in compliance with OSHA/EHS.
