Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) seeks a Director, Cluster Forward Deployment Engineering to lead a global team delivering complex AI, cloud, and data center deployments directly at customer sites.

You will own the engagement model, drive architecture from PoC to production, and coordinate across AMD teams to overcome deployment barriers and deliver value. The ideal candidate combines deep GPU, distributed systems, and production infra know-how with executive presence and strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• Experience leading customer-facing engineering teams for data center/cloud deployments.
• Proven track record deploying AI, cloud, or datacenter technologies in customer environments.
• Strong executive communication and cross-functional leadership.
• Able to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a globally distributed team of Forward Deployed Engineers.
• Own the technical engagement strategy for Mega Data Center and Cloud Service Provider accounts.
• Drive end-to-end deployment from discovery to production readiness.
• Build relationships with customer engineering leaders and AMD stakeholders.
• Resolve cross-stack issues across GPU, ROCm, AI frameworks, networking, and storage.
• Collaborate with PM, BD, Operations, and Support to meet commitments.
• Translate deployment experience into product improvements and roadmap input.
• Develop reusable deployment patterns, reference architectures, and playbooks.
• Define engineering and customer success metrics and track progress.
• Lead executive deployment reviews and health assessments.
• Scale the FDE operating model through planning and mentorship.
