Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks a Director of Governmental Reporting to lead all Medicare cost reporting, federal and state tax filings, and regulatory reporting. This role directs staff, manages budget and policy development, and ensures compliance with accreditation standards.

The position requires extensive accounting experience, leadership capability, and deep knowledge of government reporting requirements to support strategic finance objectives of the health system.

Qualifications

• Must have bachelor's in accounting; CPA preferred.
• Five years accounting experience with at least two in people management.
• Healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Directs department staff and ensures quality, productivity and compliance.
• Oversees budgeting, staffing decisions, and policy development.
• Leads regulatory and government reporting including Medicare cost reports and tax filings.
• Ensures training and performance management aligned with ethical standards.
