Job summary

ACGME seeks a Director, Governance and Board Operations to serve as a strategic leader ensuring governance excellence across the organization. The role partners with the President and CEO, Board leadership, and legal counsel to advance policy stewardship and continuous improvement of the governance framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible governance, compliance, policy administration, accreditation, legal, association, nonprofit, or higher education experience.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as administrative advisor to the Governance Committee and lead policy development.
• Provide strategic governance guidance and oversee bylaws, charters, and governance practices.
• Manage Board and committee staff operations and ensure efficient executive support.
• Oversee policy revisions in partnership with executives and legal counsel.
