Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal Deutschland GmbH seeks a Director of Corporate Transaction Tax & Advisory, EMEA to lead international tax planning for US-headquartered groups across EMEA. You will advise on structuring, post‑merger integration, and cross-border transactions with a focus on tax efficiency and governance.

You will mentor teams, manage complex workstreams across jurisdictions, and contribute to business development while leveraging AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Law degree with a tax specialization; LL.M. preferred.
• At least 7 years in international tax at a top firm or advisory practice in Europe.
• Experience advising multinational corporations on cross-border M&A and restructurings.
• Knowledge of holding company regimes, treaty planning and withholding taxes.
• Experience coordinating across multiple jurisdictions and leading complex workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Lead international tax planning and advisory engagements for US-headquartered groups in EMEA.
• Advise on cross-border structuring, separations, divestitures, acquisitions and post-merger integration.
• Design tax-efficient structures considering local laws and treaty networks.
• Guide holding company structures, financing, repatriation and entity simplification.
• Lead and mentor junior staff; coordinate multi-jurisdictional teams with counsel and other advisors.
• Support business development, proposals, thought leadership and client opportunities.
