Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director to lead international tax planning and advisory engagements for US-headquartered groups operating across EMEA. You will design cross-border structures, manage multi-jurisdictional teams, and advise on post-merger integration, holding companies, and OECD Pillar Two developments.

You will oversee due diligence, tax provisions, and client relationships while mentoring teams and supporting business development initiatives in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Law degree with a tax specialization (European preferred).
• LL.M. in International Tax Law, European Tax Law, or related discipline preferred.
• 7+ years of international tax experience at a leading law firm, Big Four, or tax advisory practice in Europe.
• Experience advising multinational corporations on cross-border M&A, carve-outs, divestitures, restructurings, and post-merger integration.
• Familiarity with OECD Pillar Two (GloBE) rules and other international tax developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of complex international tax planning and transaction advisory engagements across EMEA.
• Advise on tax implications of global separations, carve-outs, divestitures, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
• Design and oversee tax-efficient cross-border structures.
• Provide strategic guidance on holding company structures and financing arrangements.
• Lead multi-jurisdictional teams and coordinate with local-country advisors and legal counsel.
• Oversee international tax due diligence and develop actionable recommendations for clients.
• Review tax provisions within transaction agreements and documentation.
• Mentor junior professionals and foster cross-team collaboration.
• Build and maintain senior-level client relationships and contribute to business development.
