Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preference for Political Science, Policy, Public Relations, Government or closely related field.
• Minimum 12 years in public affairs, politics, policy communications, advocacy; global or market-level experience a plus.
• Strong communications skills, including executive-level engagement; strong writing and messaging ability.
• Experience with external affairs development and execution; ability to engage with policymakers and KOLs.
• Ability to build deep external relationships and support business strategy through public affairs.

Responsibilities

• Build multichannel public affairs plans that integrate policy priorities and communications to drive external engagement.
• Advise Therapeutic Area leadership translating business priorities into external strategies.
• Build and maintain relationships with policy influencers, patient advocacy groups, and coalitions.
• Monitor and interpret public policy landscape including pricing, reimbursement, and health equity.
• Collaborate across Communications, Government Affairs, Enterprise Public Affairs, and Patient Access teams for alignment.
• Ensure public affairs activities are integrated with communications and policy efforts.
• Provide strategic counsel on policy, advocacy positioning, and external engagement.
• Contribute to executive visibility through speaking engagements and media interactions.
• Stay attuned to evolving industry trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Support issues management and crisis communication as needed.
