What you’ll do

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Global Payroll to lead and oversee global payroll operations for our workforce of approximately 1,200 employees. This role requires a highly skilled leader with exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, as they will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, HR, and Legal. The Director of Payroll will be responsible for directing payroll activities while also stepping into processing payroll alongside their team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Global Payroll Operations: Lead and manage all aspects of payroll operations across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Team Management: Supervise and mentor the payroll team, fostering professional growth and a high-performance culture.
  • Drive Payroll Transformation: Lead initiatives to identify and implement international payroll vendors and systems, consolidate operations, and enhance automation.
  • Stabilize Workday Payroll: Ensure seamless payroll integration in Workday, partnering with Tech & Ops to troubleshoot and resolve system issues and ensure accurate data flow.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Accounting, Equity Admin, and HR teams to ensure payroll is processed in compliance with each jurisdiction’s legal requirements and procedures.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, monitor, and maintain internal controls, while ensuring compliance with global, federal, state, and local regulations for taxes, social contributions, benefits, and deductions.
  • Employee Confidence and Communication: Foster trust and transparency by establishing clear processes for responding promptly to employee inquiries, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring clear, respectful, and tactful communications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement to streamline payroll performance.
  • Vendor Management: Manage third-party vendor relationships and contract reviews and negotiation to ensure optimal service delivery and performance.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Provide metrics and reports to track performance, identify issues, and enhance payroll operations.
  • Hands-on Leadership: Step into payroll processes to ensure high accuracy and operational continuity during peak periods.

Who you are

  • Experience: Extensive experience overseeing US and international payroll, particularly in Israel, the UK, France, Singapore, and India. Proven leadership in managing global payroll operations, driving system transformations, and ensuring payroll compliance for fast-paced, publicly traded companies.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in payroll software, including Workday, OSV, and Papaya Global. Workday experience is required, and Workday Payroll Pro Certification is a plus.
  • Leadership: Proven success in leading payroll transformations and implementing new payroll platforms across diverse regions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to build and maintain relationships with global stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Accounting, and other teams to ensure seamless payroll processes and drive business goals.
  • Stock Compensation: Expertise in processing stock-related payroll transactions, including stock options, RSU vestings, and ESPPs, while ensuring compliance with tax withholding and reporting requirements.
  • Global Payroll Transactions: Experience managing payroll for global mobile employees across multiple jurisdictions is a plus.

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV.
The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between $127,000 - $200,000. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits.
