Job summary

The Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) seeks a Director of Meetings to lead the planning and execution of the AM & CLE and related events (16K+ attendees), guiding strategy and a team of three.

You will manage an annual budget around $16.7M, oversee vendor relationships totaling over $7.7M, and drive growth, international expansion, and on-site operations with a hybrid schedule in Washington, DC.

Qualifications

• 7+ years planning large meetings and expositions.
• Ability to manage multiple internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
• Experience using event management technology and project-management tools to support planning, execution, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational and strategic plans for ADLM meetings.
• Identify opportunities to grow attendance, strengthen exhibitor and sponsor value, and expand event-related revenue.
• Develop and manage meeting and departmental budgets, monitor revenue and expenses against forecasts, and recommend actions to strengthen financial performance.
• Lead RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor selection and management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accountability.
