The Director, Global Medical Publications will lead the development of scientific communication strategies for publications and congresses. This role involves close collaboration with Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Teams, Global Value & Real-World Evidence Teams, and Publications Management Specialists to plan and execute publication activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Strategic Publication Planning Group (SPPG) meetings for assigned compounds, integrating cross-functional insights to develop scientific communication platforms, lexicons, and global publication plans.
  • Manage the Scientific Communication Platform and Lexicons to ensure they are current.
  • Develop and execute global publication plans in collaboration with publication planning teams and Working Groups.
  • Coordinate with medical and clinical teams to align communication strategies across regions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external authors and stakeholders involved in publication activities and congress presentations.
  • Support the development of congress presentations and scientific content for external and internal audiences.
  • Assist medical, regional, and global teams in engaging with the external medical community.
  • Contribute to digital and patient-centric communication activities, including social media, digital platforms, and newsletters.
  • Collaborate on content development for educational websites and global congress strategies.
  • Oversee internal and external communication regarding congress coverage and publication updates.
  • Manage publication vendors, budgets, and operational activities in collaboration with Publications Management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 10 years in healthcare/pharmaceutical sector, with 5+ years in Medical Affairs or Scientific Publications.
  • Master's degree in Science required; PhD or PharmD preferred.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Experience in CNS, Nephrology, or Rare Diseases is a plus.
  • Proven experience with scientific peer-reviewed publications and global medical communications.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills and vendor management experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, domestically and internationally.
Educational Requirements
  • Advanced degree in scientific or healthcare field (PharmD, PhD, MS).
  • ISMPP CMPP designation preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
