Job summary

Our client seeks a Director, Fleet Service to lead a global field service organization supporting autonomous systems in demanding environments. The role focuses on 24/7 mission success, cross-functional alignment, and scalable field operations across international deployments.

The position shapes technician development, strengthens incident response, and creates feedback loops to improve future system design and operational performance, based in Alameda, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Robotics, Aerospace or related).
• 10+ years of operational experience in complex technical services within shipyards, heavy industrial settings, or global maritime environments.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership or lead roles managing support teams for complex hardware or autonomous systems.
• Strong communication skills to convey technical info to cross-functional partners and executives.
• Experience in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a global field team to support 24/7 mission success and incident response.
• Serve as liaison between field operations and internal partners, including Engineering and Logistics.
• Oversee resource allocation and schedule personnel for international deployments.
• Design technician development pathways to build leadership within the team.
• Capture field data and establish feedback loops to inform future vehicle design improvements.
• Optimize asset and project management systems for efficient operations.
• Foster a culture of accountability and excellence in autonomous systems operations.
