Job summary

AECOM, based in Los Angeles, seeks a Director of Employee Communications & Engagement to lead global programs strengthening employee connection and advocacy throughout the journey. The role sits in Global Communications and reports to the VP of Global Brand & Creative.

You will shape strategies, oversee internal channels, employee listening, and a high-performing team, partnering with enterprise functions, regional teams, and HR to deliver a consistent employee experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field.
• At least 12 years of progressive experience in employee communications, engagement, employee listening or related disciplines.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated experience shaping and activating enterprise-wide communications and engagement strategies.
• Experience partnering with senior executives and HR leaders.
• Strong change communications and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience leading and developing teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
• Excellent writing, storytelling, presentation and executive advisory skills.
• Experience supporting global organizations and geographically dispersed workforces.

Responsibilities

• Shape and lead the activation of the global employee communications and engagement strategy.
• Serve as a senior advisor to enterprise partners, leading programs and transformation efforts.
• Partner with other Global Communications teams to shape editorial priorities and governance for global employee communications channels.
• Oversee day-to-day management of global employee communications channels, ensuring content is timely and aligned with priorities.
• Lead engagement, culture and employee experience initiatives strengthening connection, pride and advocacy.
• Activate the employee value proposition across key moments of the employee journey with campaigns and storytelling.
• Partner across regions and functions to deliver a consistent employee experience and support culture and change initiatives.
• Develop strategies to listen and measure impact, translating insights into actionable improvements.
• Lead and develop a high-performing global team and advance AI fluency and digital capabilities.
