Job summary

IFC seeks a Director to lead its Direct Equity Department in Washington, DC. You will provide strategic and operational leadership for IFC's direct equity investment business, setting global standards and coordinating with regional teams to ensure high-quality investments and development impact.

You will manage portfolio risk, valuation, and exits, while mobilizing private capital and fostering innovation across markets in alignment with IFC 2030 priorities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• Demonstrated track record of originating, structuring, executing, and managing complex direct equity investments.
• Deep expertise across the equity investment lifecycle, including valuation, structuring, governance, and exits.
• Strong commercial judgment and investment discipline balancing returns, risk, and development impact.
• Ability to shape and implement investment strategy across regions and sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and evolution of IFC's global direct equity strategy.
• Provide global technical leadership and set standards for direct equity investing.
• Support regional and industry teams in originating and executing investments.
• Mobilize private capital through co-investments and partnerships.
• Represent IFC in senior client engagements and external forums.
