Job summary

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, invites a Director to lead its Direct Equity Department from Washington, DC. The role shapes the global direct equity strategy, sets investment standards, and collaborates with regional teams to drive high-impact opportunities and development outcomes.

The Director will oversee the portfolio, governance, and value creation while engaging with senior stakeholders and external partners to mobilize private capital and strengthen IFC’s equity investments.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, business administration, or related field; 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in originating, structuring, and managing direct equity investments, including in emerging markets.
• Strong investment discipline with governance, valuation, and portfolio management expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global direct equity strategy aligned with IFC 2030 priorities.
• Provide technical leadership and set standards for direct equity investing across regions.
• Drive private capital mobilization through co-investments and partnerships.
• Represent IFC in senior client engagements and external forums on direct equity.
• Oversee portfolio governance, value creation, and exit planning; promote best practices.
