Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. seeks a Director of Cybersecurity Operations to lead global security operations, incident response, and engineering across our enterprise.

Based onsite at our headquarters in Waukesha, WI, you will shape the security program, drive automation, and partner with external providers to detect and mitigate threats. You will lead SOC, IR, and cybersecurity engineering teams, advance SIEM telemetry, leverage SOAR and AI, and report metrics to executives, ensuring resilient

Qualifications

• 10 years progressive cybersecurity experience with at least 5 years in security operations, incident response, or security engineering.
• Experience directing enterprise incident response, including major incident coordination with external partners and executive leadership.
• Experience managing XDR, MSSP, or managed detection and response service providers, with contract, SLA, and performance management.
• Experience implementing or operating SOAR platforms and SIEM technologies at enterprise scale, including telemetry onboarding and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global Security Operations Center with vision, operating model, and a maturity roadmap for detection and response.
• Own enterprise Incident Response strategy, playbooks, exercises, and executive communications; coordinate with external partners.
• Mature operations with SOAR capabilities for triage, enrichment, and automated response; apply AI to analyst workflows.
• Lead Cybersecurity Engineering teams for endpoint, network, cloud, identity, and email security platforms.
• Own telemetry strategy for SIEM and data retention; optimize ingestion and content.
• Translate threat intelligence into detections aligned with MITRE ATT&CK; prioritize threat hunting and response.
• Govern external partners (XDR, MSSP, incident response) with SLAs and continuous improvement plans.
• Build and develop global teams with hiring, mentoring, and succession planning; establish after-hours response procedures.
• Define and report operational metrics for executives and board; drive post-incident reviews and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with governance, product security, and regional security leaders to align with enterprise strategy and compliance.
