Job summary

Vir Biotechnology, Inc. seeks a Director, Clinical Contracts-Transactional Counsel to lead the execution of clinical contracting activities supporting global development programs from our San Francisco headquarters.

This hands-on role negotiates clinical study agreements, confidentiality agreements, amendments, and vendor contracts while managing risk and timelines. The candidate will partner with Clinical Operations, Development, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams to drive efficient study

Qualifications

• JD and 10+ years in pharma/biotech or life sciences with clinical contracting experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing high volumes of clinical trial and vendor agreements.
• Global clinical development program experience across multiple countries/regions.
• Strong understanding of clinical research regulations and contracting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations of clinical study agreements and related site-facing contracts.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage vendor contracts including MSAs, SOWs, MTAs, and consulting agreements.
• Own end-to-end clinical contracting process for global multi-site trials.
• Partner with Clinical Operations, Development, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams.
