Job summary

Fleet Data Centers seeks an experienced and results-driven Mechanical GCM Director to lead procurement of Mechanical Cooling Equipment for data center development projects. You will manage the full procurement lifecycle from acquisition to operations and work with OEMs, integrators, and vendors to support 500MW+ campuses.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in mechanical equipment supply chains, deep data center infrastructure knowledge, and strong BI, analytical, and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Equipment supply chain, with 3–5 years focused on data center infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of data center systems and vendors (OEMs and integrators).
• Experience in fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
• Knowledge of supply chain tools, data analytics, and BI tools.
• Strong project management, contract management, and change management skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability and social responsibility in supply chain.

Fleet Data Centers is seeking an experienced and results-driven supply chain Mechanical GCM Director to lead the procurement of Mechanical Cooling Equipment for our data center development projects. This role is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle from acquisition to operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in industrial equipment supply chain and deep knowledge of the unique requirements of data center mission-critical infrastructure such as Chillers, Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC), Adiabatic Cooling, Site Water Treatment, Cooling Towers, Cooling Distribution Units, and Fan Walls.

• Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies aligned with organizational objectives
• Lead end-to-end RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) from initiation through supplier selection and award
• Conduct industry analysis and supply base assessments to evaluate supplier capacity and capabilities
• Manage supplier onboarding, qualification, and new product development processes
• Drive supplier performance and relationship management (SPRM) initiatives
• Assess and mitigate supply chain risks through strategic planning
• Oversee category lifecycle management and transition strategies
• Implement sustainability and social responsibility initiatives within the supply chain
• Monitor and report on key performance metrics including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Equipment supply chain, with at least 3-5 years focused on data center mission critical infrastructure
• Deep understanding of data center systems and associated vendors (OEMs and integrators)
• Experience working in fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure or data center projects
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management tools, data analytics, and BI tools
• Excellent project management, contract management, change management and communication skills
• Knowledge of sustainability and social responsibility in supply chain

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, MS in Supply Chain or advanced degree in engineering or other quantitative disciplines
• Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Black Belt
• Proven track record in implementing process improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence

Location and Travel

• Work location is flexible to Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, Austin, TX or Alexandria, VA. 100% Remote will be considered on a candidate basis.
• Regular travel, as needed, to Fleet offices as well as to meet with Vendors.

Expected Salary Range

$180,000 - $225,000 + Discretionary Annual Bonus
