We are seeking a Director of Fund Accounting to join our team in New York.

Position Overview

As the Director of Fund Accounting, you will lead a team and oversee fund accounting processes, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP standards. Your responsibilities will encompass review of subordinates' work and fund administrator NAV packages. Additionally, you will coordinate with various departments within the firm, such as Operations, Investor Relations, Management Reporting, Tax, Legal, and Compliance, and manage external third-party fund administrators.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team in overseeing the fund accounting and treasury function.
  • Take ownership of NAV finalization process including P&L and position reconciliation and allocation to investors for open-ended and closed-ended private fund structures. Investigate and resolve discrepancies with third-party fund administrators and internal teams.
  • Review and reconcile the calculation and payment of management and incentive fees in accordance with the funds' governing documents.
  • Review capital calls, distribution allocations, and notifications.
  • Review the work of junior team members.
  • Oversee and review quarterly and annual financial statements and workbooks prepared by third party administrators, by verifying accuracy and completeness of balance sheet items, income statement items, and other items.
  • Approve client capital account statements generated by third-party administrators.
  • Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements and annual audited financial statements following U.S. GAAP. Coordinate with external auditors for the year-end audit process.
  • Review K-1s prepared by external tax preparer.
  • Prepare and create monthly attribution performance reports for senior management.
  • Prepare and review monthly fund forecasts, NAV performance estimates, and handle other ad-hoc requests/projects.
  • Provide inputs for annual regulatory reporting, investor letters, custom client reporting, and firm-level reporting.
  • Collaborate with various internal teams, including Operations, Investor Relations, Management Reporting, Tax, and Legal and Compliance.
  • Review fund legal documents and continuously streamline or improve processes and templates.
  • Engage in special projects and contribute to firm strategic initiatives. Assist in creating and implementing procedures, workflows, and controls.
Education And Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • 9+ years of relevant fund accounting experience.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Credit Products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Enfusion, Sage Intacct, and Expensify is advantageous.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and maintain a positive team player attitude.
  • Demonstrated excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in advanced Microsoft Excel.
Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is outlined below. In addition to the base salary, total compensation may include a discretionary bonus based on performance. This range given is a best faith estimate which reflects a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, education, location and other qualifications pertinent to the position. Base salary does not include any other performance based compensation such as year end cash bonus.
