Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in the United States is seeking a Director, Project Development - Process & Packaging Systems to lead front-end planning and capital-projects for food, beverage, and consumer packaged goods clients. You will manage cross-functional teams and translate opportunities into executable solutions with rigor and integrity.

You will partner with commercial teams, technical specialists, and client representatives, directing FEED scope, risk reviews, and stage-gate processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Manufacturing, or a closely related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience leading the development and design of process and packaging systems.
• Strong leadership with a track record of growing local and regional client bases.
• Experience with GMP manufacturing facilities, regulatory considerations, and quality systems.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site assessments, and project work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and design of front-end planning for manufacturing-focused capital investments.
• Oversee FEED packages and design development for process and packaging systems in CPG facilities.
• Direct structured pursuit teams through stage-gate reviews and go/no-go decisions.
• Provide client and technical leadership, building long-term relationships and delivering value.
• Manage project plans, budgets, resourcing, and objectives to meet investment goals.
• Mentor and develop junior professionals within the firm.
