About the Role:

The Director, Franchise Sales will be responsible for supporting the Company's growth by recruiting multi-unit owner candidates into Subway and managing their initial acquisition of franchised restaurants.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the identification, evaluation, and due diligence of potential new leads, Track in appropriate Subway systems as required.
  • Reviews analysis of new leads, and interprets financial models estimating revenue growth, profitability, and impact on the organization's strategic business plans. Makes recommendations on deals that best support the organization's goals.
  • Conducts due diligence to understand the target company's business and legal practices, liabilities, financial standing, and intellectual property.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Franchise Sales team and executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Identify, recruit, vet, and guide Multi-Unit Owner (MUO) Candidates to join the Subway system via the acquisition of existing franchised stores.
  • Create selling tools and collateral, and use them to communicate the Subway opportunity to stakeholders including Candidates, Lenders, Equity Partners, etc. Match candidates with opportunities, helping to create opportunities of scale.
  • Attend Franchise Sales shows, expos and industry events to recruit new Multi-Unit Owners to the System.
  • Partner with Non-Traditional Development Team on overall budget, strategy & creative needed to market to new candidates; trade show management & budget management for the United States Franchise Sales function.
  • Provide management and direction to 1 direct report.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial analysis or related field required. MBA preferred.
  • 8 or more years of Franchise Sales experience in a highly developed corporate environment, with a preference for QSR experience.
  • Experience in initiating, identifying, negotiating, closing, and planning the integration of new leads and acquisitions.
  • Experience interfacing with external partners and coordinating their activities as part of an integrated project plan to complete M&A activity throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Works collaboratively on a team
  • Strong project management skills, inclusive of continuous follow-up on all external leads.
  • Proven track record and history of successfully originating and closing new leads and acquisitions.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work under minimal supervision and direction.
  • Travel as required up to 30% of the time.
