Bowman Consulting in Reston, Virginia seeks a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the FP&A function, drive enterprise planning, forecasting, and performance management, and partner with executive leadership on strategic growth.

This role focuses on building scalable processes, integrating advanced analytics and AI‑driven tools, mentoring a high‑performing team, and delivering timely, actionable financial insights to the Board and senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Fifteen or more (15+) years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or related roles, including leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or transforming FP&A functions in a growth‑oriented or evolving environment preferred.
• Experience incorporating automation, advanced analytics, or AI tools into finance processes strongly preferred.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
• M&A valuation, due diligence, and integration experience preferred.
• Industry experience in professional services, engineering, or consulting firms preferred.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or comparable project‑based ERP systems required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the FP&A function, partnering with executive leadership to support growth, profitability, and risk management.
• Drive automation, data integrity, and timely KPI reporting across the enterprise.
• Standardize forecasting, budgeting, and long‑range planning processes.
• Develop advanced, data‑driven analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Present executive‑level content for monthly/quarterly/annual financial reviews and Board reporting.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial and operational performance reporting for decision‑making.
