Job summary

Hungryroot is seeking a senior FP&A leader to own the annual operating plan, long-range plan, and monthly/quarterly forecast. You’ll partner with Growth, Product, Operations, Merchandising, and G&A to drive driver-based models and KPI dashboards.

You will present to the CFO, boards, and investors, track CAC, LTV, retention, AOV, and contribution margin per order, while guiding pricing, marketing spend, and new category investments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in FP&A or related fields with leadership experience.
• Expert modeling including driver-based and cohort-based models.
• Strong understanding of unit economics, P&L, and financial statements.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and present to boards/investors.
• Experience integrating AI tools (Claude) into workflow.
• Proficiency with BI tools and data teams (Looker, Databricks).
• Advanced Excel and Google Workspace skills.
• Experience in high-growth consumer/e-commerce/CPG.
• Clear, concise communication and actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual operating plan and long-range plan with cross-functional leaders.
• Own monthly/quarterly forecast (revenue, gross margin, opex, EBITDA, cash).
• Build driver-based financial models linked to cohorts, order frequency, basket size, and fulfillment costs.
• Run monthly business reviews with variance analysis and recommendations.
• Prepare board/investor materials with CFO, including KPI dashboards and narratives.
• Define and track KPIs: CAC, LTV, retention, AOV, contribution margin per order.
• Partner with execs on pricing, marketing spend, new categories, and fulfillment decisions.
• Lead ad hoc analyses and business cases for major investments.
• Collaborate with Marketing to measure channel ROI and budget allocation.
• Hire, develop, and mentor FP&A team.
• Improve planning tools and data infrastructure with Accounting/Analytics.
• Strengthen budget ownership across departments.

Job description

About:

• Lead the annual operating plan and long-range plan, working with leaders across Growth, Product, Operations, Merchandising, and G&A
• Own the monthly and quarterly forecast, including revenue, gross margin, contribution margin, opex, EBITDA, and cash
• Build and maintain a driver-based financial model tied to customer cohorts, order frequency, basket size, and fulfillment costs
• Run the monthly business review: actuals vs. plan and forecast, variance analysis, and clear recommendations
• Prepare board and investor materials with the CFO, including KPI dashboards and financial narratives
• Define and track the KPIs that matter most: CAC, LTV, retention, AOV, and contribution margin per order
• Act as finance business partner to the executive team on pricing, marketing spend, new categories, and fulfillment network decisions
• Lead ad hoc analyses and business cases for major investments and initiatives
• Partner with Marketing to measure channel ROI and guide budget allocation
• Hire, develop, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team
• Improve planning tools, processes, and data infrastructure, working closely with Accounting and Data/Analytics
• Strengthen budget ownership and accountability across departments

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate strategy, including 3+ years leading an FP&A function or team
• Expert financial modeling skills, including driver-based and cohort-based models
• Deep understanding of unit economics, P&L management, and the three financial statements
• A track record of influencing senior leaders and presenting to boards or investors
• Experience incorporating AI tools (Claude) into your workflow
• Comfortable working directly with data teams and leveraging BI tools (e.g., Looker, Databricks)
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and GSuite (Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.)
• Experience at a high-growth consumer, e-commerce, subscription, or CPG company
• Clear, concise communication: you turn complex analysis into simple recommendations
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field

Salary and Perks:

Pay range: $200K - $225K
