Overview

As the Director, Forecasting Excellence for U.S. Pharmaceuticals, you will lead forecasting strategy and capabilities across the commercial organization, delivering the insights and predictive intelligence that guide business planning, investment decisions, portfolio strategy, and long-range growth initiatives. Partnering closely with leaders across Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Sales, Supply Chain, and Analytics, you will establish forecasting best practices and enterprise standards, drive innovation through advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions, and provide actionable insights that help leadership evaluate opportunities, manage risk, and improve business performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape forecasting excellence as a strategic enterprise capability while influencing critical decisions that drive growth and portfolio success.

  • Establish forecasting best practices that promote consistency, transparency, and analytical rigor across the organization.
  • Lead and develop forecasting talent, external partners, and cross-functional teams to build a high-performing forecasting capability.
Driving Strategic Business Decisions
  • Serve as trusted advisor to Marketing, Finance, Market Access, and Sales leadership, delivering executive-ready narratives that explain drivers, changes, and implications rather than restating outputs.

  • Support budget, latest estimate, annual planning, and long-range planning processes with timely and insightful forecast guidance.
  • Deliver executive-ready analyses and recommendations that inform strategic business decisions.
Advance Forecasting Through Analytics & AI
  • Drive the evolution of forecasting capabilities through advanced analytics, machine learning, AI-enabled solutions, and innovative forecasting methodologies.
  • Apply AI to scale national forecasts down to region, territory, and account level, working with Advanced Analytics and Sales Operations.
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics teams to modernize forecasting tools, processes, and methodologies.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative approaches that improve forecasting accuracy, scalability, and business impact.
  • Ensure forecasting output aligns with enterprise data standards and commercial performance metrics.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical or life sciences commercial experience, including significant forecasting responsibility and direct model ownership.
  • Deep expertise in pharmaceutical forecasting methodologies, business planning, forecasting governance, and performance measurement.
  • Experience forecasting retail-dispensed pharmaceutical products and working with prescription, patient, market, and commercial performance data.

  • Expertise in scenario planning, predictive analytics, and forecast performance measurement.
  • Proficiency with advanced analytics tools, data modeling, and forecasting platforms.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to build credibility and alignment across senior stakeholders.
Preferred:
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in a quantitative or business discipline.
  • Experience forecasting both promoted growth brands and mature pharmaceutical products, including products facing loss of exclusivity.
  • Experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI solutions to forecasting and commercial decision-making.
  • Experience with subnational forecasting, territory planning, goal setting, or incentive compensation design.
  • Experience with modern pharmaceutical data and analytics platforms, including IQVIA, claims data, SQL, Python, R, Databricks, Veeva, Salesforce, or related technologies.
