  • Maintain confidentiality and represent Veterans Upward Bound to internal and external constituencies.

Job Description

This is a Full Time, 12-month, federally-funded grant position with excellent benefits.Position will report to the Executive Vice President of Redlands Community College.

The Director is responsible for the strategic planning, overall administration, implementation,supervision, and evaluation of the U.S. Department of Education–funded Veterans UpwardBound grant project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee academic and support services, participant progress, staff professional developmentand performance evaluations, program policies and procedures, short- and long-rangegoals, and outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality, complying with applicable privacy requirements, demonstratingknowledge of veterans’ benefits and service organizations, and representing VeteransUpward Bound to internal and external constituencies.
  • Additional travel required to serve veterans in other counties of the target areaas required.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree required in education, counseling or related field.
  • Applicant must have excellent budget-management skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong time-management, multitasking, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solvingskills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preference will be given to applicants who served in the military and received anHonorable Discharge or General Discharge under Honorable Conditions, have been awardeda VA disability rating, have used VA education benefits, and/or have successfullyovercome barriers similar to those faced by the Veterans Upward Bound target population.
