DEPARTMENT/ADMINISTRATION: Office of Enrollment

POSITION: Administrative, Exempt (12 months), Full-time (40 Hours)

Hybrid Schedule: Two days remote and three days onsite per week

SALARY RANGE: $70,304 – $70,304

HIRING RANGE: Anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

INTRODUCTORY PERIOD: Twelve (12) Months

Definition of Classification:

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Graduate Enrollment, assists in all phases of the recruitment and admissions process for students entering graduate, credential, and certificate programs at the University of Redlands. This position has primary responsibility for recruiting prospective students through meaningful employer partner relationships, strategic events, telephone, SSM, and email outreach, personalized counseling appointments, and general outreach.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruits, counsels, and enrolls prospective graduate students to meet annual new student enrollment goals.
  • Nurtures assigned employer partners and establishes new partnerships to support strategic relationships and recruit partner constituents. Positively impacts graduate enrollment goals by delivering partner events, generating leads and developing employer partner enrollment pipelines.
  • Outreaches daily through various methods to graduate program inquiries including walk‑in, telephone, internet, and website interactions with the intent of scheduling appointments and enrolling into appropriate programs.
  • Counsels prospective students on admission requirements and procedures for graduate programs and certificates across four schools at the University. Provides financial aid overviews, and assists prospective students in aligning academic goals with career options.
  • Assists in developing, writing and editing communications, flyers, invitations, etc. related to the recruitment of graduate students.
  • Supports and helps to deploy a variety of Graduate Admissions events held in‑person on the University’s campuses, online and at employer partner locations.
  • Assists admitted students with registration, orientation and various onboarding activities.
  • Maintains applicant files, collects, and distributes applicant documents and manages prospective students and applicant files via Slate CRM and produces and monitors enrollment reports using Excel and other tools.
  • Utilizes relationships with current students and alumni to promote lasting connections with the University to support referral.
  • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Guidelines

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Experience / Training / Education – Required
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Experience in higher education recruitment and enrollment or student services management, academic advising, counseling, professional coaching, career services, or sales training is preferred.
  • Must be able to work directly, in‑person and virtually, with prospective graduate students from undergraduate to seasoned mid‑career professionals; manage professional employer partner relationships, represent multiple graduate programs at education fairs, professional events, lunch and learn activities, benefits fairs, and Graduate Admissions recruiting events.
  • Successful candidate will possess a high degree of personal initiative and ability to work independently; critical thinking and problem‑solving skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; an understanding of academic culture in the context of graduate and professional education; a professional demeanor with proven recruitment ability and effective organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; familiarity with higher education ERP and CRM systems, and quantitative skills to support enrollment projections and analysis and data‑driven decision making.
  • A valid California Class C CA driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Out‑of‑state licenses are valid until appointment. A valid California Class “C” driver’s license must be obtained within ten (10) days of appointment (in accordance with CA Vehicle Code 12505c).

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is usually moderate. Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. May be required to travel for extended periods of time for athletics contests and recruiting activities. Requires flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by the teams’ schedules.

Physical Demands: Incumbents regularly stand, walk and sit; speak clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and to provide information; see to read fine print and operate computer; hear and understand voices over telephone and in person; use hands and fingers to operate an electronic keyboard or other office machines; walk on a regular basis and stand for prolonged periods; travel to various locations; distinguish colors and have depth perception; reach with hands and arms; push, pull and lift; stoop or kneel or crouch; climb stairs; lift, carry and/or move objects typically weighing up to 25 pounds.

PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAMS: For certain positions typically in Public Safety, Facilities, Athletics and Information Technology Services departments, employment is contingent upon a candidate passing a pre‑employment physical exam with the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs. Public Safety Officers, in addition to a pre‑employment physical exam, will also be required to pass a psychological evaluation.
