Job summary

South Piedmont Community College in Monroe, NC seeks a full-time Program Director of Fire & Rescue Training to lead curriculum development, scheduling, and assessment across fire, rescue, and EMS programs. The position requires an Associate degree, OSFM Program Director Training within 6 months, 10 years in fire service, and teaching experience in community

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of NC OSFM Program Director Training within six months of hire.
• 10 years of experience in the Fire Service.
• Three years of administrative or supervisory experience.
• Three years of documented teaching experience.
• Experience in teaching in the NC Community College System in online and in-person classes.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Experience with online instruction via a course management system such as Canvas.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership to the Fire & Rescue training program.
• Supervise full-time and adjunct instructors in the Fire & Rescue programs.
• Develop, schedule, and assess curriculum; oversee student learning outcomes and advising.
• Coordinate training with local fire and EMS agencies in the region.
• Assist in developing budget and program planning; engage with advisory boards.

Education

Associates degree in any field

Completion of NC OSFM Program Director Training within six (6) months of hire

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in fire science, emergency management, public administration, education, or related field.
