Job summary

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) seeks a Director, Standards & Professional Guidance – Financial Services to lead the creation and maintenance of guidance, thought leadership, and practical resources for the internal audit community worldwide.

You will oversee content development, collaborating with global experts, regulators, and volunteer groups to ensure alignment with IPPF and evolving financial services expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of internal audit or related professional experience, including at least 5 years at the manager level or above and 5 years supporting or auditing financial services organizations.
• In-depth knowledge of financial services internal auditing, governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of banking, insurance, asset management, capital markets, or related financial services activities.
• Knowledge of financial services risks and regulatory expectations, including financial, operational, credit, market, liquidity, conduct, and model risk.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, collaborate with subject matter experts, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of professional guidance, thought leadership, and practical tools supporting the global internal audit profession.
• Support the ongoing development and relevance of IPPF.
• Collaborate with volunteer committees, technical writers, and global subject matter experts to produce high-quality guidance and professional resources.
• Develop content in formats including technical guidance, reports, articles, presentations, webinars, and templates.
• Apply quality assurance processes to ensure guidance is accurate, relevant, and aligned with development standards.
• Respond to technical inquiries regarding The IIA Standards and professional guidance.
