Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP seeks a Director to lead and expand Financial Advisory Services within the Office of the CFO Accounting Advisory practice. You will advise CFOs and finance leaders on complex accounting, reporting, and transactions, leveraging deep GAAP/IFRS knowledge.

The role requires 10+ years in accounting advisory, CPA, and strong leadership to guide senior client relationships and cross-functional teams. Travel and extended hours may be necessary in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, business, finance or related field - Master's degree preferred
• CPA required, CFA or other relevant certifications a plus
• 10+ years of accounting advisory experience in Big 4 or top-tier consulting
• Proven track record of leading complex engagements and managing senior client relationships
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver high-impact solutions in fast paced environments
• Willingness to travel overnight and work extended hours as necessary

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior advisor to clients with deep technical expertise
• Lead advisory engagements on complex accounting topics including ASC 810, ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 350/360, ASC 718 and complex instruments
• Advise on accounting policy development, restatements, and remediation of material weaknesses
• Build and maintain relationships with CFOs, Controllers, and Audit Committees
• Drive thought leadership on evolving FASB/SEC guidance and regulatory developments
• Stay abreast of regulatory developments (SEC, FASB, IASB) and emerging technologies
• Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing teams and collaborate cross-functionally
