Job summary

Penn State Health in Hershey, PA seeks a Director of Finance for the East Region to lead financial operations across the academic medical center and affiliated entities. The role reports to the CFO – East Region and operates as a key member of the senior leadership and shared services teams.

The Director will oversee month-end, year-end, and annual budgeting, ensure data-driven decisions, and partner with cross-functional groups to drive profitable outcomes while maintaining financial integrity

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of functional financial experience in healthcare finance leadership, physician practice management, and/or healthcare operations.
• Five (5) years of management experience.
• Understanding of the role of Third Party Payers, including Government Organizations.

• Directs financial operations for the East Region, collaborating with shared services and all levels of management.
• Leads month-end, year-end, and annual budgeting processes and coordinates with Shared Services teams.
• Partners with other areas to implement recommendations that promote profitable outcomes.

Director Finance Academic Medical Center - Financial Support West

The Director of Finance, East Region will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – East Region. The Director position will contribute to the overall success of the organizations’ by effectively managing and coordinating key financial tasks. The Director will have the responsibility to work cross-functionally with all shared services teams and all levels of financial and operational management to support the financial performance and execution of the overall mission, vision, and strategy of the assigned Penn State Health entities in the East Region. This position is also a key member of the senior leadership team for the entities it supports, as well as the shared services financial senior leadership team. The role has responsibility for the financial aspects of the East Region operations, and is expected to analyze data and partner with other areas to implement recommendations based on findings to promote profitable outcomes. Additionally, the Director will manage and lead their team through month end, yearend, and annual budgeting, with key interaction and coordination to the Shared Service teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Seven (7) years of functional financial experience in healthcare finance leadership, physician practice management, and/or healthcare operations.
• Five (5) years of management experience.
• Must have an understanding of the role of Third Party Payers, including Government Organizations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

• Certification as a CPA, CMA, CPAM or CHFM
