Job summary

Rainmaker is seeking a Director of Water Development in Washington, DC to lead our engagement with the Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Reclamation. Based in DC, you will build programs, partnerships, and funding pathways to advance precipitation enhancement as federal water infrastructure, while managing Congressional relationships and coalitions.

You will develop strategies for funding authorities, coordinate with Rainmaker’s State Government Affairs team, and organize site visits

Qualifications

10+ years in Western water policy, natural resources policy, or federal government relations.

Responsibilities

Own Rainmaker’s engagement with the DOI and Reclamation end to end.
Identify and secure funding vehicles like WaterSMART and related programs.
Maintain knowledge of the statutory landscape governing Reclamation and develop legislative proposals.
Own relationships with House and Senate committees and Western delegations.
Collaborate with State Government Affairs on federal authorities and funding.
Build relationships with Reclamation regional offices and promote site demonstrations.
